About A Hole In The Floor

I'm a long-time fan of bodybuilding, weightlifting, powerlifting and strongman events. In addition to attending competitions, I enjoy reading books and watching films about the history of, and personalities who participate in, these sports.
A Hole In The Floor is dedicated to these passions.
First, this site includes reviews of books I've read and movies I've seen about the strength sport world. There's some great stuff out there, but also a lot of junk. I hope to direct you to the good stuff while saving you the time and money I've unfortunately spent on the bad.
Second, this site also includes videos I've shot at various strength sport events. I tend to be interested in stories: that is, not just raw competition footage, but videos that include some kind of narrative or explore the people involved. I hope my videos capture some of what makes strength athletics not just impressive to watch, but personally meaningful.
I would be delighted to hear from you. I can be reached using the contact form below or by clicking here to send me a direct e-mail. (Note that this is a forwarding e-mail address to protect against spam; you'll receive a response from a different, real e-mail address.)
I welcome general comments, questions and criticisms. If there is a book or video you'd like me to review (whether it's your own or just one you've heard about), I'd like to hear about that as well. And if you're a bodybuilder or strength athlete or promoter and would like me to make a video about you or your event, please also send a message; I'd love to talk with you about it.
Thanks for stopping by!
